90年代的北京，冬去春来小旅馆，见证了一群来自天南海北怀揣梦想的青年男女跌宕起伏的北漂生活。痴迷剧本创作但不断被退稿的徐胜利屡败屡战；渴望站上高雅舞台的歌手庄庄却只能在走穴商演中求生存；希望能演女主角的沈冉冉在浮华娱乐圈面临着机会与选择；一身才华的萨克斯手陶亮亮在天桥下吹奏给路人实现自己的音乐梦；热爱文艺的群众演员郭宗宝为了给妻儿治病拼命干杂活儿努力赚钱；想一鸣惊人的画家曹野满脑子先锋艺术可惜无人理解。他们为了梦想努力拼搏，但现实总是残酷和无奈，走过千禧年，来到新时代，他们有人还在坚守，有人被迫放弃，但艺术的火种在这群人心中永远不曾熄灭……
