那是1943年，古老的华夏土地饱受列强铁蹄蹂躏，而艰苦卓绝的抗日战争也到了生死存亡的关键时刻。古镇常德，在你来我往的厮杀中占据着重要的军事地位。围绕这场德，一场血腥而惨烈的风暴即将到来。坚忍低调的何平安（钟汉良 饰）表面上是常德的一名小警察，实际上却是我党安插在这座城镇里的地下工作者。日寇的重兵渐渐逼近，加上贪官污吏中饱私囊，大批土匪抢掠滋扰，令常德危如累卵，破城在即。混乱局势下，平安结识了米店千金沈湘菱（王力可 饰）。无情的战火在这片土地上点燃，弱小生命仿佛被卷入了巨大绞肉机，令人不敢直视。 在历史的关口，乱世儿女勇往直前，谱写了可歌可泣的民族颂歌……
