《丑娘娘》《济公传》《古今小说》……在德云社一代宗师郭德纲最为鼎盛也是最为艰辛的那些年，他相声和评书两开花。相声逗得人前仰后合，将观众带回了茶馆；评书则引人入胜，令人欲罢不能。当然因为各种原因，许多杰出的评书作品呈现出“欲知后事如何，且听下回分解”的深坑状态，这坑一挖就是十几年，让听众和观众们有着颇多遗憾和期许。直到2016年，爱奇艺联手郭德纲打造了中国首档大型单口相声体验式综艺节目《坑王驾到》，该节目以小剧场茶馆实景播讲的形式呈现。郭老师端坐中央，谈古论今，娓娓道来，为他的忠实粉丝讲述了一个又一个许诺已久的小故事。
