《远古入侵》是由Impossible Pictures公司为英国ITV电视台制作的重头电视科幻剧集。第一部中Nick Cutter教授和他的团队在Dean森林他们调查时间异常情况。同时远古时代的恐龙也通过异常点来到了现在的地球，给小组的调查带来了更多压力和挑战。Cutter教授与其失踪8年的妻子Helen穿过异常点，来到了远古时期，回来后世界发生了无法挽回的剧变。而他与Helen则是唯一知道真相的人... 第三部开篇，一只锯鳄穿过异常点走上了伦敦街头。Cutter, Abby, Connor和小组的新成员Becker上尉与博物馆美艳的考古学家Sarah Page联手，试图在锯鳄造成更多伤亡之前捕获它。在这一季中，Cutter和同伴不仅要面对史前猛兽，还有可怕的未来生物，以及在其背后隐藏的真相。。。而独行侠般的警官Danny Quinn将加入小组。
