这一年是2052年，一个前所未有的和平与繁荣的时代遍布全球。原因是:人类已经从疾病和痛苦中解脱出来了。诺贝尔奖得主神经科学家斯金纳博士发明了一种神奇的万灵药，没有明显的缺陷，叫做Hapuna。 哈普纳很快变得无处不在……而且必不可少。然而，在Hapuna正式推出后不久，斯金纳博士就消失了。 三年后，世界又向前发展了。但斯金纳博士回来了——这一次，他是末日的先兆。斯金纳宣布哈普纳的半衰期很短。所有服用该药的人大约三年后都会死去。死亡即将降临这个罪恶的世界，而且很快就会降临。 为了应对这一威胁，一个由5名特工组成的特别任务小组从世界各地聚集起来，从斯金纳的计划中拯救人类。这群人被称为“拉撒路”。他们能在时间耗尽之前找到斯金纳博士并研制出疫苗吗?
