热爱冒险的14岁少年翔锋，在一次野外探险的时候闯入了外星侵略者和地球联合军的战场，在躲避攻击的过程中跌入神秘山洞，遇到一个被水晶封印的神秘少女，并意外触发洞中的远古遗迹机关唤醒了沉睡的少女灵心，被吸进入异空间的翔锋获得了凝聚星球意志的星魂之石和召唤咒语。回到现实的他遭到机兽的追杀。在危急时刻星魂之石发生共鸣，翔锋念出咒语唤醒星球的意志，意志能量附着在一辆废弃的跑车上，变形成为红色的机器人——烈空焰，轻松击退了外星机兽。烈空焰是为了守护星球而诞生的6个星魂战士的其中一个，它的主人就是唤醒它的少年翔锋。从此翔锋肩负起守护地球的艰巨责任，他和烈空焰一边寻找唤醒其它的星魂战士，一边和外星侵略者派出的各种敌人展开激烈战斗……
